Billy Dee

Not to be confused with Billy Dee Williams or Billy Dee Smith

Billy Dee is the stage name of former adult film star William Daniels, born September 25, 1951, who appeared in approximately 500 films between 1974 and 1990.

A very light-skinned black man, Daniels was one of the first black adult film actors of the era to find crossover success with white audiences due primarily to his ability to "act" white. However, he could also play roles in stereotype — and, on occasion, pass as Hispanic.

Daniels left the adult film business in 1990. According to a self-written update on Excalibur Films' website [1], Daniels attended (an unnamed) bible college and earned a degree in theology, but has yet to be ordained as a minister.

In an interview with Nina Hartley, she informed us that Billie Dee is playing in a church band in San Antonio.

He was inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame in 2002.[1]
